Dengue transmission modeling and analysis

Our emphasis is on the use of coming dengue vaccines for the control and elimination of dengue in targeted geographic area. This work involves the analysis of dengue data from selected field sites in Thailand, Colombia and Nicaragua. In addition, we have developed an agent-based model of dengue transmission to estimate the effectiveness of mass vaccination. The model is closely based on the demography of the Bang Phae district in Ratchaburi, Thailand. We plan to expand the model to include other populations that will be using dengue vaccines. This work is joint with the Dengue Vaccine Initiative http://www.denguevaccines.org/ .
